Axis Fiduciary Ltd in collaboration with BLC Robert & Associates has addressed some of the critical features of the legislative amendments following the National Budget 2019/2020 delivered by the Honourable Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Pravind K. Jugnauth before the Mauritian National Assembly on 16 June 2019.
The amendments have been passed in
- The Finance (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act (the “Finance Act”) and
- The Business Facilitation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act (the “Business Facilitation Act”).
Both Acts give effect to the measures announced in Budget Speech 2019-2020 “embracing a brighter future together” in line with the Government’s development objectives.
The report highlights significant changes from two sections:
- The Finance Act, covering Companies Act, Income Tax Act, MRA Act, Financial Services Act, Banking Act, among others
- Business Facilitation Act, covering ICT Act, Immigration Act, Non-Citizens Act, Film Act among others
