HM Treasury has published its fourth annual report on anti-money laundering and counter terrorist finance (AML/CTF) supervision in respect of activity undertaken in 2013-2014.
The report follows the new methodology used to assess member countries’ AML/CTF regimes published by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF)
While previous rounds of assessments focused on technical compliance with the applicable standards, FATF member countries are now required to demonstrate not only that they have the required AML/CTF systems and controls in place, but that these systems and controls are being implemented effectively and are achieving results at all levels across the AML/CTF regime.
The report includes both quantitative and qualitative data, and provides a number of good practice case studies from individual AML/CTF supervisors.
