The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and the G20 anti-corruption working group jointly convened an experts meeting on corruption with the key objectives of:

discussing the FATF’s draft “Best Practices Paper on the use of FATF recommendations to combat corruption” and to incorporate feedback; and
identifying key challenges in determining the beneficial ownership of legal persons and arrangements in corruption cases and what measures might be taken to overcome these.

Participants expressed support for the best practices paper and committed to sharing it with relevant anti-corruption and anti-money laundering authorities.
